  4. Cavern Duel Freeware Demo version - COMPATABILITY ISSUES

  6. This version has been fully tested on the following machines:

  8. 4 and 8 meg Risc PC 600 on Risc OS 3.50
  9. 15 meg Risc PC 700 on Risc OS 3.50, 3.60
  10. A7000+ on Risc OS 3.70
  11. 4 meg A5000 on Risc OS 3.10
  12. 1 meg A310 on Risc OS 2.00 - can be run if screen memory is set
  13. to 160k, while system sprites, ram disc, and font cache are set
  14. to 0K. This version of Cavern Duel has had the desktop quit
  15. routine suspended, as it doesnt seem to work! The above method
  16. is the only way it can be run. Contact us if there are any
  17. problems on OS 2.00 machines.

  21. A305 (any point?) up to Risc OS 3.10 or 3.11?
  22. A320              up to Risc OS 3.10 or 3.11?

  28. StrongArm Risc PC - This version uses a timing loop. Let me know if it
  29. works okay on this machine. It should do, its a simple TIME loop.
  30. A4 pad            up to Risc OS 3.10 or 3.11?
  31. Network Computer with NCOS (Netstation) - I would be especially interested
  32. in whether the demo works on one of these! You'll need a keyboard and mouse
  33. though!

  35.  I have found that the current routine for 1 meg users (that of killing
  36.  the desktop before running the game, due to memory constraints) crashes
  37.  the aforementioned machine. I have disabled this feature, and lowered
  38.  the WimpSlot, so that the game can run without needing to take this
  39.  action.

  41.  If however, you do have problems running the demo on a 1 meg machine
  42.  with Risc OS 2 (or later?) then do not hesitate to contact me, using
  43.  the methods provided in the helpfile within the !CavenDemo directory.
